SkyTrain for Surrey, not LRT!

On December 13, 2018, the Regional Mayors’ Council passed a weighted motion endorsing to proceed immediately with planning and project development on a Fraser Highway SkyTrain project, with the goal of eventually completing the full 16 kilometres from King George Station in Surrey to Downtown Langley.

This follows a November 5, 2018 unanimous motion by Surrey City Council instructing TransLink to cancel the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT, and the subsequent November 15 motion by the Mayors’ Council approving the LRT cancellation.

With the support of all relevant project delivery partners—including commitments from the provincial and federal governments to retain the 10-Year-Vision Phase 2 funding for SkyTrain—our campaign to put a SkyTrain extension on the map has reached its conclusion.

We thank you for being with us, every step of the way!
