Voice Your Opposition: Phase Two Plan Online Survey

May 1, 2018 – Surrey, BC TransLink has launched a public consultation process for the ‘Phase Two Plan’, which is part of the Regional Ten Year Vision and includes the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT. This is your opportunity to tell TransLink directly that you don’t support the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT, Surrey’s LRT vision, and the Phase 2 Plan. There are several ways to participate in this process:
1. Online Survey
An online survey is open from April 30 to May 11, and is on the TransLink website at: tenyearvision.translink.ca/get-involved It is absolutely imperative that everyone participate this survey and tell TransLink that LRT in Surrey should not be a part of the Phase Two Plan.
Survey Completion Guide The survey opens with an introduction page. Press Next to proceed to the survey. On the first page labelled “Transportation Improvements”, you will be greeted with an option to rate the importance of the different Phase Two Plan projects (#1). Rate the Surrey-Newton-Guildford light rail (LRT) as you see fit (we selected “not important”), and then press Next. If you gave LRT a “not important” rating, you may be asked why you did so on the following page (#2). Check the options as you see fit. If you checked “Other”, use this field to specify why you oppose the SNG LRT and Surrey’s LRT vision. On the following page labelled “Transportation Funding”, you will be asked to rate whether the proposed funding mechanisms are fair or unfair (#3). Rate these ways as you see fit. We would suggest rating all of the items as “Very unfair” or “Somewhat unfair”, as this would show that you see the plan’s inclusion of the SNG LRT as a detriment to the plan. If you gave the funding mechanisms either of these ratings, you may be asked why you did so on the following page (#4). Check all that apply or use the “Other” field to specify your concerns. Finally, you will be asked if there is ‘anything else’ you would like to share regarding the Phase Two Plan (#5). Use this box to convey your opposition to the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT, Surrey’s LRT vision, and the Phase 2 Plan.
2. Pop-Up Engagement Events
