A notable point we get from the news release is that the value of the primary contract is now just $889 million—and this already includes $20 million earmarked for the recently announced additional station at Lincoln Ave.
However, the original Request for Qualifications document for the Evergreen Line specifically stated that:
It is anticipated that the value of the work to be undertaken by the Primary Contractor will be approximately $900 million to $1 billion.[1]
This means that the Evergreen Line is likely to be delivered for as much as $100 million under budget, with a final capital cost of $1.3 billion, as opposed to $1.4 billion.
